STEWARDSHIP

What is Stewardship?
  • Stewardship is an act of worship. It is not a fundraising exercise.

  • Stewardship is a symbolic way of demonstrating our trust in God. It is also an acknowledgement of God’s Lordship over all aspects of our lives.

  • Stewardship takes on its greatest meaning when we choose to give a portion of our income to our church not because the church needs money, but because we want to honor God with a designated commitment of the financial blessings that have been entrusted to us.

  • Stewardship loses meaning when we give because we feel compelled to do so by guilt or duty. God does not want gifts given in this spirit.

Bush Hill Presbyterian Church asks all church members and regular attendees to complete an annual "estimate of giving" card to indicate their commitment to God through the church. No one is coerced to pledge or visited to ask for funds. The church budget is based on what church members choose to pledge, trusting that God will provide for our church’s ministries.

Stewardship is about making choices such as these, as individuals and in community. It is about being faithful disciples, caring for and managing all that God has given us.
