Bush Hill
Presbyterian Church seeks to
help everyone in our church family develop a basic knowledge and
experience of the Christian faith and biblical heritage, and understand that we are children of God and disciples of Christ.
Christian
Education is held at 9:30-10:30 AM from September
through mid-May. During the summer, special programs will be offered. The dates and times will be published on the website
and calendar.
Christian Education
-
From September through mid-May, all ages meet together in Catlin
Chapel for Combined Worship once a month; on the other
Sundays, Christian Education classes are divided by age groups (see
below). Check
our website often for new information.

2009-2010:
Follow the Lectionary Class:
Sundays, 9:30 AM
Friendship Room - Main Building, to right as you exit Sanctuary
Want to preview (or think more) about the worship
theme each week? The class, “Follow the Lectionary,” is a Bible
study where the lectionary Scripture is read and discussed. New
participants are welcome at any time. Don't be concerned if
you're not a biblical scholar—we’re all here on the journey to
learn together. Come for a visit or for the rest of the year.
Topic/Book-Based Class:
Sundays, 9:30 AM
Room 12 - Main Building, downstairs
The
Topic/Book-Based Class is conducting study of
Unbinding the Gospel: Real Life Evangelism
by Martha Grace Reese. “Unbinding
the Gospel…
arises out of the only major study of
evangelism in mainline churches, funded by the Lilly Endowment.
It is a book for pastors who want to know the truth about the
state of evangelism. It is a book for Christians who want a
hopeful, powerful, prayerful, joy-filled way to learn to share
their faith. (It's also a book for people who cringe when
they hear the "E" word!) Based on thorough research,
sparkling with life and practicality, and steeped in
spirituality, this workbook for congregational use has been
enthusiastically endorsed by seven heads of denominations,
professors of evangelism, and leading experts, and pastors."

Confirmation Program
The Confirmation Class (grades 9–12) meets each Sunday
morning during the Christian Education hour from 9:30–10:30. Members of the
group attend weekly meetings, participate in a retreat, get involved in
mission at church and off-site, meet with mentors, and share their
experience with their families and the congregation.
There is a separate class for parents of those participating in the
Confirmation Program. The parents will meet in a separate room from the
confirmation class.
Youth and College-Age Ministries
Youth, other than those in the Confirmation Class, will
participate in Christian Education classes during the Christian
Education hour. Youth may also participate in either Core
(Middle School Fellowship) on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45 to 4:00 PM;
or Senior High Fellowship at 6:30 PM on Sunday evenings; or
at other special events occurring at times different from the
regularly scheduled times - see the
Youth Page for more
information. This page also includes information on the College-age
Ministry at Bush Hill Church.
Children’s
Ministries
In addition to regular Christian Education classes, there are
additional ministries for children.
Wednesday Club
is for elementary-age children (Kindergarten age through Grade 6); this
ministry also involves a large team of youth and adult volunteers.
Enrichment Classes
are offered during the worship service for children, age 3 through
Kindergarten age. Splash!, created by the Presbyterian
Church, is for children from birth through age 3. More information is found on the
Children's Page.
